Memoir - Dianne Yates

Dianne Yates has been an advocate for women for many years; in education, Parliament, and Women’s Electoral Lobby. She was an early promoter and campaigner for MMP to enable more women and greater diversity of people in the New Zealand Parliament. When in Parliament she presented a private members bill on regulating reproductive technologies and was a forward thinker in this field. She lobbied for the Innovation Park at Ruakura in Hamilton and did much advocacy behind the scenes to enable this facility to receive funding. While in Parliament Dianne was a strong voice for Hamilton. Dianne is now theoretically retired but still teaching public speaking, communications and speech and drama.
