Peter Gibbons taught for several years at the University of Waikato. His publications include Astride the River: A History of Hamilton (1977) and chapters in the Oxford History of New Zealand (1981; second edition 1992), and the Oxford History of New Zealand Literature in English (1991; second edition 1998).

Margaret Evans, Illustration Research

Margaret Evans was a Hamilton City Councillor from 1974-1989, when she was elected Mayor, a position she held until she retired in 1998. She is active in the field of sustainability: economic, environmental and social wellbeing. Her earlier career was in newspapers, radio and television. Her current focus is New Zealand history research.
