Ruth Davey; Artist-Printmaker
Sale price: $35.00 NZD

Since coming to live in Hamilton in 1960, Ruth Davey has made her mark as a printmaker, through numerous exhibitions and through teaching generations of would-be printmakers. Her dedication to her craft is exceeded only by her interest in learning ever more.

Published here for the first time is a collection of Davey's inimitable prints, her style instantly recognisable to all who have worked beside her in the studio or collected her work.

Images of 94 of her prints are introduced by art historian Ann McEwan and by Davey's own remarks on the place of printmaking in her life. Printmaker and educator Marty Vreede provides an appreciation of Davey and her work. The plates are followed by a brief explanation of printmaking terminology, a timeline and a partial checklist of Davey's prints.

The book is signed by the artist.
